I actually enjoyed reading this third section of the book...Sometimes I struggle with coming up with innovative designs, and tend to lose focus. The part about Sprinting is great, and I think I will actually do that for future projects. It reminds me of the thirty second -- two and a half minute sketches one does while warming up at a figure drawing session. I also feel that the "setting parameters" part of Sprinting is crucial. By setting time limits and working with specific typefaces, it is easier to avoid overthinking the task at hand.
Another piece of useful information was the section about alternative grids. Genius. I want to come up with some of my own basic shapes to start from, and create seemingly complex alternative grids. I like the idea of using cityscapes or trees for this.
Lastly, the part about Physical Thinking really appealed to me because I do a lot of collage work...I'd like to incorporate physical thinking into future projects as well.
I agree that Sprinting is a great brainstorming method!
