I was excited to see a section on collaborating, because I am always working on group projects with friends (outside of school) and find myself always wanting more of that. As I started reading the section I found myself nodding my head in understanding from previous experiences, the more I read the more my excitement for the read was lost because I felt that I wasn't going to learn something that I didn't already know. I do all the things that the book says to do and I still find myself in some level of creative conflict. I was looking for some tips on how to take a set of ideas that two people are coming up with throughout a conversation and finding ways to create common creative ground. (This opens up any suggestions from you guys). However I did get some reassurance when I came across a line that said, " A degree of conflict is inevitable in any project - learn to go with the flow."
It was reassuring to hear it from a credible source that nothing comes out exactly the way you want it. Which is something as artists we all have experienced, but is always nice to be reminded and told not to worry about in extent.
