This project was an interesting concept, but a challenge. I just recently ended a five year relationship and haven't really thought of dating again. My ex and I are still on good terms and I bounced the idea of doing a Risk spin off. He laughed and said "If that's the case then dating you was like a land war in Asia." I found the comment quite funny and touching.
Risk is the strategic game of world conquest. Using troops you attack your fellow players. A roll of the die determines who wins the attack and if your are successful in defeating all of your opponents troops you get their territory. When you hold entire Continents you get bonus troops. The harder the continent is to hold the more troops you get. This is setup to reflect what the online version looks like. The troops are represented by numbers and the territories you hold are highlighted in your color.
In this game Pink has the upperhand with 55 troops on the board and a bonus of 16 troops (7 troops for holding Asia, 2 troops for holding Australia and 7 troops for territories) For a total of 71 troops. Blue isn't to far behind with 48 troops on the board and a bonus of 9 troops (2 troops for holding South America and 7 troops for territories.) For a total of 57.
Blue is posed to attack from any one of the neighboring territories. But Pink has strong defenses on vulnerable territories. And while things are looking to be in Pinks favor its to close to call who would win. With a simple roll of the dice one player can lose half their territories.
I set this game up like I tend to play I'm ready to defend my area, and can withstand a good beating, but there are some vulnerable areas that he could attack and do some damage.
