Fane: Ethnic History

Ethnic History:  From talking with my parents I have figured out that I have a very diverse ethnic history.  I am Irish, German, Swedish, English, and Dutch.  I am about equally part of each of these ethnicities and don’t really specifically associate myself with anyone of them specifically.

Religion:  Growing up religion has never been a large part of my life.  However, my parents are Catholic and Methodist so that is what I would associate myself with most closely.

Holidays:  Important holidays within my family are the normal ones that most Americans celebrate including Birthdays, Christmas, Easter, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc.

Ethnically I have a very diverse family.  On my dads side I have members that are Caucasian, African American, Asian, Gay, and Straight.  So I have grown up with no racial prejudices.  From talking to some family members they discussed the hardships of having an interracial relationship and how it was looked down upon at the time and many people disapproved of them being together.

Friends:  I don not have friends that cross barriers.

Tension: None.

My plan for this project is to do one billboard piece with a deconstructivist approach.
